I really don't wish my first post for the year to be politically motivated. But seriously, even before I read Mr Tan Kin Lian's rather short article, I was already thinking: common sense tells me there is a conflict of interest. A party has to appear to be incorruptible to another reasonable person(s), being "clean" in reality is simply not enough. In other words, the party should not have put itself in such a situation and its integrity doubted even a shred. A pity Mr Alex Au has chosen to put himself in the line of fire. And she should have just kept quiet, let the storm pass. If it is here to stay, there is no hindering it.
May there be peace and calm in my land of birth.
