The Farewell Card

Well, if you haven't read this, you wouldn't know what all the fuss is about...

So, as part of our "act", apart from quilt-making, we penned our "last words", or rather, farewell, on gaudy cards. I wrote my without much thought, and realised too late how it sounded like those engraved on tombstones or those you find on the obituary page.

Lesson learnt: the naked truth speaks in moments of frailty. For me, I know only of writing from the heart. I might as well have drawn a cross on a mound. Rest in peace. And good riddance!

PS: I wrote something along the line of "we will meet again...in another place, in another time, in our memories...", thus "farewell is not forever!" Right, "in another place", as in hell?

Farewell isn't forever. Forever is.
