Have you seen those eyes, as huge as purple grapes, of a baby staring unblinkingly? All the pure wonder, innocence in that little cosmic of a soul. Her eyes twinkled, smiled and your heart almost melted. Her little palm closed like a boxer’s, a little fighter clanging to your finger, silky soft to touch. You wished to immortalise that momentary sensitivity, that joy of a new life, of a new spring, all in that finger.
And I asked: "Will you remember me?"
P.S: Written in 2006 while recalling the first time I set my eyes on my niece.
