Short Take: Mind-Fishing + Letting it go + listening to the Mountain

Short Take: Currently savouring Gao XingJian's collection of short stories Buying a Fishing Rod for my Grandfather - In the Park especially, is staggeringly brilliant - and musing about Mr. Gao's proposal that the art of fiction is "the actualisation of language and not the imitation of reality in writing" And I take back my words: yes, Never Let Me Go is good, great, compelling, engaging. Now, are you satisfied? Also, Yasunari Kawabata's The Sound of the Mountain is sheer delight, highly commendable work of literature.

Entry posted with Shell playing: a classic J-rock track from the Jap anime Witch Hunter Robin. Yup, I am turning out to be a Jap freak.
