Undoubtedly, this is one of the best movie that I have watched in recent months. Light-hearted and uplifting, if movie-making is like whipping up a dish, 海角七號 (Cape No. 7) definitely has the right mix of ingredients. But most importantly, there is a dose of sincerity as if the movie has a soul, suffice to knock out an elephant. I mean, surely any human with a heart will cry, laugh and rejoice with this one. The characters are lovable and leave a deep impression. Though inconsistently developed with gaps in their life stories, one can't help but feel for them struggling to cope with the ups and downs of life and love, and their dreams and hopes. And of course, there is music - one of mankind's greatest invention, I'm sure.
