The night is dead. Joi Chua's (蔡淳佳) 恋之憩 breaks the silence with its benign wave. Up till recently, I thought it a rather tired re-mix of a 80's hit, hardly comparable with the original by 姜鄠. Yet somehow, Joi chua's 恋之憩 took a surprise journey to my heart, healing and glowing, erasing all previous misconceptions - the music video from youtube no doubt played its part.
I had waken at a little after midnight after sleeping at eleven. Now, only the mind is active, in contrary with the body's fatigue. I thought some thinking would do me good. Unless, of course, if I have someone to talk to, writing is the next best thing, or even better: you are less likely to trip over your own feet, if you know what I mean.
Stories, we all have. I like to tell my in my own way. Seldom chronologically. Life, as much treasured, holds little meaning if you fail to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Yet, to see life in its true light - pun not intended - one has to brighten the tunnel with any fanciful torches. Torches, you have aplenty to call to mind: laughter, a genuine smile and a sincere heart, to name a few.
So reach out, grab my hand, share my joy (torches) and walk the tunnel with me to the light...won't you?
The joy of living lies in breathing and feeling leading to true understanding and loving...
Just like how I have come to understand and eventually love 恋之憩 in all its own beautiful ways, all over again.
I thought I have lost the feel, the distance with my writing. Now, I think, maybe not. Maybe there is still something in me to write, to feel, to tell...
