Of Kings and Royalty

Seriously, I think Mr Abdullah Ahmad Badawi should just resign. If only not to further weaken the position of the ruling party. Even the royalty is getting into the act, which was previously unthinkable. Apparently, the Malaysian King had in the past expressed his wish not to be Abdullah's rubber stamp.

It's interesting to note that our northern neighbour presently has an eight years old boy as their Regent. And the kid is rubbing salt into Abdullah's electoral wounds. It remains to see how low UNMO will fall before they decide to take matters into their own hands and axe the incumbent Prime Minister.

Most of us in Singapore know that they have a rotational monarchy and that the king's role is mostly ceremonial. Ostensibly, they also have a King Lear, who is tearing his hair out at the instability, tearfully watching and helpless as an eight years old kid while his legacy falls apart. I guess my gleeful tone is mostly palpable.
