Be As You Were When We Met

When you were gone, for a long time, your absence was imperceptible. Days turned into months. I didn't call, neither did you.

When I found myself waiting at the lift, alone with your good friend M, I blurted out, starkly asking after your well-being, without reservation. That was when I first realised that I missed you. Perhaps she deciphered my heart crying out for the past, a shred of memory swirling in the iris's dark whirlpool. Perhaps she perceived something of you in me. I should have called, she chided.

I never call. For deep inside, I know I had let you down; the things you had done for me, I have no way of measuring up.

Sometimes, when I think of you, I would recall when we first met, and imagine telling you, be as you were when we met.

Promise me, be as you were when we met, only because I'll never forget.

Afterword: "Be As You Were When We Met" is a composition by S.E.N.S. I'm always reminded of her whenever I listen to it.

If we can always stay the same it'll be good but humans change.. Don't we?

Humans are also filled with contradictions, aren't we? Everything changes, feelings, love, so why are you still waiting for Mr. Right when you know he will change, or rather your feeling will change? Am I even making any sense? I hope so...
