The Derby

Two red cards, two penalty goals and two legitimate penalty appeals: that was how the Merseyside derby ended, with the Reds the beneficiary. The surprise was Benitez's rather strange decision to substitute Steven Gerrard when they were searching for a winner; for it was the captain himself who went on a bruising run into the Everton's box to draw a foul from Tony Hibbert for the equaliser.

I can't imagine if Liverpool were to only draw or even lose the match; Benitez has taken more than enough stick from the media, fans alike. Sad to say though, the Liverpool players were looking far from being a championship-winning outfit.
