Being Yourself

"There comes a certain point in your life when you start to withdraw from people, preferring to build high walls around you, crawl into a cave and live in your own world where you indulge in emotions, thoughts and dreams which only you can understand. You don’t have to pretend. You don’t have to act the role, if you don’t feel like it. You don’t have to make a socially-acceptable comment for the sake of it. You don’t have to second-guess yourself and wonder if the words that were spoken were true or a pack of lies. You don’t have to please.

You can be yourself and not someone else you have to pretend to be."

- D W

The price of being yourself, of individuality, is a detachment from society, from lives of friends and loved ones. Honestly, this is what it all seems to me. And it is unlikely that we can spend every moment without concealing ourselves, pretending to be someone else to please others. Denying this is lying to yourself and pure detachment for life itself. That is partly why this blog exists. At times, I even lie here, which really doesn't matter. Pardon me, if I'm going over your head.
