Now, where should I start. This is Christmas Eve and a Sunday, so to avoid contributing to human traffic, I am staying put in my cave. Or perhaps not; if the grey sky holds up, a swim is considered. I have just finished reading Stardust of that nice, messy-haired Englishman, Neil Gaiman - very nice indeed. But after reading his short fictions from Fragile Things and Smoke and Mirrors, one thinks Stardust is rather a one-off. He tends to mix an urban tale with a faerie's twist. So it is Yukio Mishima's Spring Snow next - something I have been putting off for months.
I have been busy, well, not much with family till tomorrow though, but with books and movies. Death Note 2 is as brilliant as the first instalment. The media reviewed it as being too long-winded. I beg to differ; the length is just nice. So it is the Chow Yun-Fat cum Gong Li vehicle, The Curse of the Golden Flower next. By the way, I think Jay Chow really rocks with his theme songs for the movie.
Now, I am in my room, the sky outside greyish, typing away, with my CD collection of Japanese New Age pianists playing melodies of deep emotions about ancient cities.
The holidays are here. It seems that friends are too busy with their own lives to meet up, not that I bother to ask. Or that theirs do not involve me, though, it's more like my life does not involve them. But either way, I am contented:-)
So MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY HOLIDAYS to all - regardless of race, colour, age, sex, whatever.
