Warning: This entry is purely for books lovers...
Mitch Albom's latest novel, For One More Day, is out in the store. To think I spotted it at Popular bookstore - which is associated more with children's assessment books - of all places, at a obscene price of S$36.00 when a normal paperback costs less than half of that. At Kinokuniyo, the hot seller which debuts at No. 1 on NY Times’ Bestseller List was strangely missing, though with my remaining book vouchers, I purchased Jose Saramago's Blindness and Yasunari Kawabata's The Old Capital. For a long time now, the public library has adequately quenched my literary appetite. Besides refusing to invalidate the vouchers, there is an inexpressible exhilaration seeing the works of one's favourite authors on the shelf of his room; the titles on their spines seem to radiate unbounded yet inexhaustible pleasure.
