Now God is back to rule the Kops and the fans are singing again. So, the good old days of the 80s - where the Reds ruled Europe and the old English Division One (remember "Big League Soccer"?) - are back with an Ian Rush- like finisher? (No, neither Crouch the beanpole nor Fernando the slow snail fits the bill with their lowly scoring rate.)
Well, for one, God is already 30 years of age, a bit over the prime of a footballer. So can he still deliver the anticipated truckload of goals? In recent seasons, tabloids have labeled him a washout and a fading force with history of late night partying and boozing and God knows what. To be fair, his was a career littered with injuries, perhaps a case of too many games at too young an age. But then a good soccer player can never be kept down for long. His silky skill and touch remain intact with passing of time, though pace is never his strength. I am already rubbing my hands and waiting fervently yet patiently for what is to come from the prodigal son we call God. Surely this is a good deal for Rafael Benitez and Liverpool solely on Robbie's loyalty and passion for the club.
PS: For now, I can only dream of the return of another Anfield's favourite, Owen.

God is a friend of mine and Steve Macmanaman's. He didn'd need much persuasion from us to go back to Anfield.
